At BEST Windows and Doors, you will find the finest quality glass. We are pleased to offer Milgard’s ENERGY STAR qualified glass for both, interior and exterior use throughout your home or commercial building.
ENERGY STAR qualified products must be independently tested and certified by the National Fenestration Rating Council. Milgard is proud to be an ENERGY STAR partner and offer windows and patio doors that meet their requirements.
The windows and doors in your home protect you from the weather outside. It’s important to choose those that are ENERGY STAR® qualified and suited for your climate. Energy efficiency is based on the frame material, dual or triple paned glass, Low-E glass coatings, gas fills between the panes of glass and warm edge spacers.
Laminated glass is produced by permanently bonding two pieces of glass together with a tough plastic interlayer (polyvinyl butyral) under heat and pressure. Once bonded together, the lite behaves as a single piece. The interlayer is invisible when viewed through the glass; thus, the finished lite is indistinguishable from plain glass.
Most often, laminated glass is produced from annealed glass, but tempered glass can be used when special performance needs are present. The benefit of laminated glass – if it is broken, glass fragments adhere to the plastic interlayer rather than falling free and potentially causing injury. Laminated annealed glass can be cut or drilled.
Tinted door and window glass provides additional shading from direct sunlight and warm conditions. It also provides privacy by reducing visible light transmittance to the outside. There are various tints available through Milgard to achieve the energy performance or architectural style that is desired.
Obscure door and window glass helps protect your privacy while allowing abundant light to enter the room. Milgard’s obscure glass comes in a variety of texture patterns for a translucent to semi-opaque effect.
Craftsmanship and artistry are combined for distinctive elegance with Milgard Crystal Groove, adding an extra spectrum of light and design that will bring any room to life.
Crystal Groove can have a ground (matte) finish that allows the light to accentuate the design or a polished finish that reflects the light. It can be applied to most glass and is perfect for doors and windows.
